We are accustomed to seeing old architecture and structures in the name of Parliament buildings. However, this photo is of the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh. The modernity of this building makes this Parliament unique.

The fruit-bearing tree – Papaya

There is nothing special about the papaya in this photo but still, it held my attention because it is not everyday that I get to see a fruit-growing on a tree. This one was hidden as it was surrounded by vegetation.

The enemy forces, or

The city it had once pledged to protect.

If it had a mind of its own

Would it not be confused

For once, the city that was on its side

has expanded far and wide.

These tall trunks of trees are found galore in the coffee estates. To me, they appeared to be guarding the coffee plantation.

Golu Devta Temple in Ghorakhal near Nainital.At this temple, the ritual is devotees make petitions at the temple, using stamp papers, to seek the desired decree in litigations. On accomplishment of their wish, the deity is shown gratitude by hanging bells or making animal sacrifice. People from all over the region consider Golu Devta, the presiding deity of the temple, to be an incarnation of Lord Shiva and ‘the God of Justice’.
