Welcome!

I am Anamika Agnihotri, mom to a free-spirited boy, Dhruv. While he is growing up to be a ‘Big Boy’, I am growing up too. I love to live in the world of books – ‘Picture Books’ to be precise.

Read our growing up tales from Preston, England and children’s book reviews on this blog.

This particular tree which I see every time I walk down to the markets in the city centre from home speaks to me, “I may look ordinary for the major part of the year yet this truth cannot stop me from being magnificently beautiful even if you think it is only in the passing.” The first picture was taken 2 weeks back and the second picture is from the springtime. The other day when I met the tree again, it had embraced the winter. #autumn #autumncolors #autumntree #spring #springcolours #springtree #changingseasons #changingcolours #citytrees #ordinary #treelove #tree #thebespectacledmother
When I asked Dhruv to write a short review of the book he had just finished reading, he gave me this along with his review. I asked him, "Why the tags? It isn't a blog post." He replied, "This is for you to laugh." Caution - Don't try to strain yourself by reading his handwriting because it will take a bit of an effort. #reading #readingtime📖 #bookreview #tags #booktalk #kidreviewer #bookishmom #thebespectacledmother #laughingmatter

I am a morning person. The first thing I do when the first streak of daylight seeps in through the window blinds is to open them and look at the eastern horizon for the colours in the sky. The morning sky fascinates me. I haven't watched an actual sunrise ⛅ in 2 decades courtesy living in the high rises surrounded by plenty more of them. I would love to watch the rising sun in the mountains and at the sea beach. Perhaps, someday. #morningsky #morningskyview #morning #skywatch #sunrise #sky_brilliance #thebespectacledmother
Is it just me who doesn't want to let go of the autumn? The temperature has already plummeted to winter levels. Most of the trees now stand bare having shed all the leaves. Winter has set in. Freezing times are here #autumn #november #earlywinter #changingseasons #cold #coldweather #preston #englishwinter #northwest
