Joining #ThursdayTreeLove, a photo feature on Parul’s blog. It is hosted on the 2nd and the 4th Thursday of each month.
If you would like to play along, post a picture of a tree on your blog and link to Parul’s post. Let’s come together to appreciate the beautiful nature around us.
How wonderful to see that life is coming back to this tree that looks like it has been chopped off once. So, regeneration is happening for sure. This image fills me with hope. Where is this from, Anamika? Your apartment complex? Did it happen on its’ own or is someone trying to make it happen with conscious efforts??
(P.S. I know…too many questions! :D)

This stump was just outside the entrance of the homestay in Madikeri. I have no idea whether the regeneration is natural or a conscious effort. I did not see it from this angle, else I would have enquired about it.

It is amazing and inspiring (and sometimes heartbreaking) to see this kind of regeneration. I remember seeing elm trees trying to sprout from the stump after the tree had to be chopped down because of a blight that killed almost all these trees in the United States back in the 1960’s. The tree stump would regenerate, and in a year or two, the sprouts would catch the blight again. The tree would keep trying, though…..over and over. Life is so tenacious.

This is wonderful! I wonder if the tree is coming back to life, or if those are new creepers growing on it. Whatever the case, it’s beautiful!
