3-day Quote Challenge – Day 1

Last month I took a break from blogging. After 6 months of continuously cajoling and shuffling my mind to make up stories out of my daily routine, my mind gave out on account of exhaustion. It wanted to just remain comatose being a mute spectator to the events occurring around it. It made it clear to me it had no more energy to create spectacular out of the mundane. It said I had promised it that I would not overburden it by writing just twice a week and here I was giving it a hard squeeze nearly everyday. After all it needs to work and get applied in other places and situations as well like passing on nonsensical arguments as extraordinaire in confrontations with husband.

It complains I was increasingly ceasing to be true to my thoughts by writing about things only for the sake of writing in the event of churning out quantity work for varied platforms. It reminds me of Alchemist and that I will be a lousy writer and a lousy blogger if I take up writing as a career unless, of course, it is my own manuscript. It coaxes me to shed the fear of admonition and write about what matter most to me.

And, I think from now onwards I am going to follow my mind which seems to be working in tandem with my heart.

Exactly one month ago I received a message from my friend Vinitha who blogs at Void Thoughts and Reflections nominating me for the 3-day Quote Challenge. Since I was on a hiatus then, I promised her and myself too that I would come back with this challenge.

So here are the rules –

  • Post one of your favorite quotes(different quote on each day) on three consecutive days. The quote can be from your favorite book, author, or your own.
  • Nominate three bloggers to challenge them.
  • Thank the blogger, who nominated you.

Here is my quote –

I appreciate and respect that you gave yourself that break! I try not to pressure myself too much about blogging, but I do it sometimes and wish I wouldn’t. Our blogs are supposed to be sources of happiness, not pressure. That said…I’m glad you’re back!
