A Thank You Note

Today I am thankful to all my readers. You may have been just passing by and chose to stop by this bespectacled mother’s stories for a moment or you may have been a regular visitor. I am grateful to all of you.

When I started out, my first readers were my friends from school and my erstwhile workplace who gave me a great response. However, by the time I posted my fourth post, they all dispersed. I could understand why they left. A few of them were still not married or those who were did not have kids as yet so why would they be interested in the long run to read my potty training escapades. And those of my friends who have kids left for the simple reason that they have kids. In a nutshell, they were busy and always pressed for time. The other big reason was I failed terribly at hounding them to read.

With my fourth post where I tried searching for my lost readers, I eventually found out none. It was heartbreaking. I had been writing my personal notes forever but I settled upon blogging as a medium because I wanted to be read. By now I had almost given up blogging and was thinking to go back to writing personal notes scribbling everywhere.

Just then, unexpectedly Deaf Mama came. She came and read each post of mine and shared a part of herself with me on each one of them. This was a huge encouragement. She is a seasoned blogger. She helped me understand the technical nuances of blogging and working upon the layout and display of the blog. She was doing A to Z challenge on the topic of motherhood at that time and suggested me measures for getting readers to my blog posts.

That worked for me and with new-found enthusiasm I resumed. I won’t be exaggerating in saying that this blog owes its life to Deaf Mama.

After this there have been times when there have been prolonged lean periods, when again I did think about quitting. But every time there have come some or the other who identified with me, who had something to say to me and who became a regular reader.

I am full of gratitude to each one of you who have helped me keep going when I thought the tide was tough to carry on surfing. You have also pushed me in not loosing the basic essence of my blog and be continuously vigilant in my approach.

Many of you have gone, some forever while a few of you might come back some day to read my thank you note for you.

I wish to thank my present readers and visitors today while you are still here.

Tomorrow your interests may get evolved, tomorrow you may get bored with the topics I take up here, tomorrow you may think now I have nothing new to offer, tomorrow you will have far important things in your life than reading this bespectacled mother’s stories and you may never come back. Thus while you are here today reading this post, I want to let you know your presence and your shared thoughts mean a lot to me and are serving to be a boost for me.

Thank you my readers.

  1. I understand your feelings, Anamika. I am glad that Deaf Mama stopped you from stepping away from blogging. We would have never met you know. It happens to me too, n readers, no comments, nothing. But its okay. Even I was stopping by here after a gap. Life gets in the way sometimes. But remember, we all are here. We all like to read what you write. So keep writing and blogging. Thank you for sharing your views with us. 🙂

    1. Yes it is true Vinitha, if not for Deaf Mama we would not have connected. And further the truth is there is your contribution too that this space will see completion of 1 year next month. Your blog is among the list of highest referers to my blog. Through your blog I have been exposed and introduced to some very talented bloggers. And even this post finds inspiration from your gratitude circle posts.
God bless you. Happy New Year. May this new year bring you and your family loads of happiness and good health. May you see great heights as a blogger in this new year. 🙂
